Dedfryd Gwlad: the Judgment of the People. It is both a quest each apprentice must seek as well as her final test before gaining her song’s full potential. To pass is to live. To fail is to die, or worse. It is in this way that each singer submits to her people’s judgment. By doing so she opens herself to our history, to our racial memories, and crosses the boundaries of time and place.
